Instrument description
The ZEISS Xradia 520 Versa is an advanced X-ray microscope for non-destructive 3D tomographic imaging of biological and polymeric materials, achieving voxel resolutions down to 700 nm with penetration depths up to 30 mm. It operates with a tunable X-ray source (30–160 kV), multiple objective lenses, and advanced contrast modes including absorption and phase contrast, enabling high-quality internal imaging without sample preparation. Typical applications include 3D visualization of scaffolds, biomaterials, mineralized tissues, and polymer constructs.

Instrument use must be booked in advance and approved by the instrument manager (elisa.deluca@cnr.it)
External users
External access is possible under the following agreements:
1.Scientific collaboration – use of the instrument within a joint research project or bilateral collaboration agreement.
2.Training – hands-on sessions supervised by qualified laboratory staff.
3.Use under technical assistance
4.Service – measurement and analysis performed by the facility staff on samples provided by the user
